How to view Additional Account User Information in Active Directory (Windows Server 2003 and 2008)

Would it be nice that you can view the following information of your users on to your Active Directory Users and Computers console:

User GUIDs/SIDs
Password Last Set
Password Expiration Date
Last-Logon Timestamp
Date of Last Logon and Logoff
Date of Last Bad Logon

There’s a tool in Windows Server 2003 Toolkit that allows you to fetch information from LDP Utility view (LDP.exe) and port it into Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.  No need to lcate these information using LDP viewer...

Screenshots from Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition

You need to download the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/e/c/8ec3a7d8-05b4-440a-a71e-ca3ee25fe057/rktools.exe

Here’s the procedure on how to do this (same instructions for Windows Server 2008)

1.       Here’s the typical screenshot of Active Directory Users and Computers without the Additional Account Info Tab:

2.       Download Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit (link above) and install it to your server.  Go to the Command Shell of the Resource kit and issue the command REGSVR32 ACCTINFO.DLL

the acctinfo.dll is the tool to port all the needed attributes to Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.

3.  After registering the DLL file, it will show you a message indicating a successful registration:

4.  Make sure to close and re-open your Active Directory Users and Computers so it refreshes its tabs.
Open up your Active Directory Users and Computers to view the properties:

5. Here you see the Additional Account Info tab – there you see additional information per user account

Hi could you please confirm that is only for 32Bit OS of 2003 and 2008.

As I cannot get this additional tab working for Windows 2008 Standard 64bit.

Is there an alternative for 64bit Versions of 2008.

The error I get is:

The module "acctinfo.dll" may not compatible with the version of windows that your running. Check if the module us compatible with an x86 (32-bit) or (64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe.
