Cancelled PHIWUG event in AMA Legazpi
I was in Legazpi City whole week last week to render my early Christmas vacation since I am going to spend the holidays here in the office. While there I was invited by the School Director of AMA Legazpi (my Alma matter) to conduct a lecture for the students and promote PHIWUG to the instructors, the date was set for December 15 at 4:00PM however the timing was very wrong as students were having their prelim exams.
Too bad I had to prepare my PowerPoint that week then knowing that the event will be cancelled on the last minute (I was told when I got to the school)… hehehe
Anyway here’s the collage to what was to be my technical lecture…
These are the 2 notebooks which I used in our CDO event, 1 is running on a Windows XP with a Windows Server 2008 Virtual Machine that is configured as a DC and DCHP server and the other is running on a Windows VISTA Ultimate edition.

I was going to show the students some features of VISTA and how to add the machine to an existing domain (PHIWUG.COM) and I was also going to discuss how to configure a DNS server, promote a server to a DC and setup a DCHP server in Windows Server 2008 (I got the step by step screen shots prepared), I thought of presenting things like this because when I was still a student I didn’t know these things yet (since none of the seminars conducted introduced this to us), at least by showing it to them they’ve be given an idea about the available technologies out there and what they'll be facing in the near future.
Anyways there’s always a next time…
